Fjällgården

The project started out as a competition to make an addition to the existing building. Doos won the competition and also was commissioned to do the interior design. The idea was to recreate the grand atmosphere of the original Fjällgården from 1910. Many insensitive refurbishments had destroyed the building and the mission was set on getting the mountain feeling back into the hotel and let in air and light. Today Fjällgården has recaptured the dignity as one of the classic properties in Åre with an intensely popular restaurant, bar and hotel.
